As the founding editor of BreakPoint radio for nine years, Pearcey wrote 1000+ radio commentaries and edited thousands more for broadcast. She was a commentator on Public Square Radio and has made more than 400 media appearances, including NPR, C-​SPAN, Fox & Friends, the Dennis Miller Show, the Dennis Prager Show, the Bill Bennett Show, Hot Air TV, The Mike Huckabee Show, and Focus on the Family.

Pearcey studied under Francis Schaeffer at L’Abri in the early 1970s, then earned a Master’s degree from Covenant Seminary and completed additional graduate work in the history of philosophy at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto. She has taught at Biola (Visiting Scholar at the Torrey Honors Institute), World Journalism Institute (the Francis A. Schaeffer Scholar), and Cairn University (Professor and Scholar of Worldview Studies).

​Currently, Pearcey is a professor and scholar in residence at Houston Christian University, where she holds the Elizabeth and John Gibson Endowed Chair in Apologetics. She is also a fellow at the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture. She and her husband have two adult sons who were homeschooled.
